I first heard about Draft Barn five years ago.  I liked the concept – a bar, in Brooklyn, whose beer menu was so extensive that I had only tried about half the beers.  The decor is simple, the lighting adequate, but the original location has a beautiful outdoor seating area.  Today, Draft Barn has 3 locations, and inside sources tell me that a fourth is in the works.  The original location is now twice as big as it used to be.

The main draw for Draft Barn is the fantastic beer list.  The tap list is on the small to medium scale, but all of the taps are interesting (you’re not getting Bud on tap here), which is a plus.  On the other hand, the list of bottled beers is staggering, and even includes some aged beers (if you order a Thomas Hardy’s, the response will be “What year?”).   If you need guidance through the beer menu, some of the staff are very very good at making suggestions based on things you know you like.  Myself, I’ll recommend some of my favorites – Thomas Hardy’s, J.W. Lee’s, St. Bernardus White, and Celebrator from the bottle list.

If you’re not worried about only eating kosher food, they have a nice menu, and I’m told the food is good.
